Adding a wood boiler to your existing heating system is a great way to protect yourself from volatile fuel prices. Wood boiler owners are ensured of high heating efficiency, low heating costs, and use of an abundant, locally available, renewable fuel.
All of our boilers use wood gasification combustion technology. This is the most efficient way to burn firewood. As a result, our boilers use substantially less wood than conventional wood boilers and outdoor water stoves.

Solo Innova by HS Tarm
The Solo Innova boiler is the next generation of the popular Solo Plus boilers from HS Tarm. The Innova provides a convenient, safe and environmentally responsible way to heat your home and hot water with wood. The Solo Innova model is Tarm’s newest wood-fired gasification boiler. The design is similar to the Solo Plus but with additional features (smoke extraction duct), higher efficiency and intended to be used with heat storage. The Solo Innova model is a patented, wood-fired gasification boiler, available in two sizes: Model 30 (102k btu/hr), Model 50 (170k btu/hr).

Scandtec is located in Tarm, Denmark, across town from the HS Tarm factory. In 2007 Hans Sorenson, the grandson of the founder of HS Tarm, left that company to form Scandtec. The new company took over production of the Solo Plus boiler from HS Tarm and has been shipping to the U.S. for two years.

The Solo Plus has long been the standard for wood gasification boilers. While the essential design of the Solo Plus remains unchanged, Scandtec has made significant updates and enhancements. By example, the exterior shell of the boiler is far more attractive and reflects the notion that a utilitarian appliance doesn’t have to be ugly. Many other enhancements, such as digital controls, have been made under the hood. What has been a great boiler is now even better.
